Won Sung Gu (Black Dynamite) analysis

Today I decided to breakdown this perspective in anatomy drawing to understand better how to create dynamic perspective drawings. Below you can see the shape breakdown and you can see how each shape relates to the next one in space. For instance just lke before we notice the foreshortening comes from the cylinder of the gun pointing off to the  side of the page. Notice it doesnt have to be a huge circle for the barallel of the gun it just has to be bigger that the other end and elongated enough to tell us the distance it has from the rest of the figure.

The hand we could break down into a series of box like shapes and there is a great deal of foreshortening in the arm since the hand itself is hider and bigger than his arm which is hidden behind the gun and hand. The bodies themselves could be broke down to two big shapes one for the chest torso area and one for the hips. These dont have a box structure to them and it reminds me of the wedge videos that show us how to break down the figure into a series of wedges. We can also see that he deliberately chooses which side of the shapee to curve and which side to make a straight, for instance in the top right we can see the whole underleg as one curve or two straights connected by a curve while 3 curves makes up the top part of the leg and the kneecap. We also see here indications of structure lines that show how he created a box like shape to draw the high heel he is wearing.

Speaking of construction lines this is all done in one point perspective. Infact we can see the perspective line going back into the distance and how he drew out the gun as probably the first thing he did which probably gave him the perspective tp freestyle the rest of the figures on because I don't really see any other construction lines.

Outside of this the primary thing I noticed was how he draws hands with a number of curves and straights that make me want to incorporate that into my own. The simplicity of the anatomy in the way the shapes subtly change from a curve to a straight for instance in the arms, lats and back legs of the two back figures is something to keep mind of for future reference.
