Caricature analysis

Caricature analysis
Much like in previous caricature pieces I've done this is an image where the features of the face are nearly the same but the spacing between them is exaggerated for cartoonish effect. Here we can see that the nose to lip area is longer, the lips are more pronounced and the overall shape of the head is rectangular. Some things I noticed is that he pushes the flesh mounds of skin found on the cheekbones up close to the eye and it seems like this rhythm is reflected on the otherside and also is reflected in the shape of the nose.

If exaggeration is key to good caricatures, we can see that if he elongates one area such as the nose to mouth then the area between the nose and eyes and the lips and chin appear to be (and could be) smaller atleast in comparison. The top plane that overlaps the eye lid is also very well done since this is a key recognizable feature. Below I decided to trace over the forms of the face while looking at a asaro head to get a better idea of how the forms are created and connected. Another point is the way the laughlines connect to the lips and these lines follow around to the chin. Notice how the lines and shapes all have a rhythm and are conencted to one another.
