Movie poster analysis

Composition

When I first looked at this I first noticed that the image is broken up into thirds in the background that adds to a strong visibility in the image. In the top we have the larges part of the image covered in a blue storm/fog  that has the forms of the temple and dragon emerging out of the shadows and clouds not unlike the way mike mignola might group the values together in his piece. In some area we can see the form gets lost in this blue background and it really adds to the mystical feel. This color is bisected by a strong yellow.greenish light that falls down the image and cuts out the silhouette of the dragon and the fierce looking soldier in knight armor in the background. 

Its not a coincidence that the dragon head is on the same plane as the mans head and this is in the same area as the temple. We visually associate almost immediately these 3 elements. Is he defending this temple? As we move down we see the silhouette of the back figure holds this other ninja figure which from his positioning I would assume is the hero , his strong black silhouette merges with the bottom 3rd of the image which has several figures positioned as they fight, and we can see again much like mignola these values from the giant ninja figure to these fighting samurai are all connected. 

The middle third is small but it punches the silhouettes and the drama of all the figures forward with a strong red pink color that contrasts against the top and adds a visual variety as well as a punch pushing the forms forward.  On either side of these figures we see what looks like the wise old man annd ally archetypes both are represented in contrasting color with the old wise man in blue and the ally in orange. 

The closer I look at it the more cool details we see, such as the piles of bones the fighting ninja and samurai stand in front of. We also see a log of diagonals throughout the image such as the weapon the ally holds. as well as the various angles of the swords and weaponry. the two straightest lines is the wand in the old mans hand and the staff in the bottom left hand guys hand.
