Mr. Misang analysis

Some of my favorite drawings right now are super dynamic illustrations of what I would assume are images of science interpreted through the filter of the artist Mr. Misang. One of the first things I notice is the strong use of perspective this image has with the biggest points of perspective being the bottom of the brain that sets above the image and the bottom part where we see the record player in the skull of the scientist. To me this feels like a 4 point perspective almost becoming a fish eyed perspective, but the forms are distorted to the same degree.

Compositionally there is one long sweeping curve through the image that guides our eye in the form of the tube with pink liquid running down it. It starts up close to where the eyes are which is probably relevant to the pink liquid itself but also draws our attention from the heavy top of the image down past the busses, past the floating red blood cell like shapes and through the forest of pyramid dome like shapes that add a slightly darker value to the background of where the character is standing making his silhouette values feel like they fit.

There is a clever use of different iconic shapes to represent different types of things that we relate to the brain with. We see streaks of pink lightning which compliment the blue backdrop and green brain (that almost feels like a planet), we see a cow floating midair, scientists falling towards us from the brain opening creating a sense of depth, an anatomy model, a bus. red blood cell shapes (clever!), Christmas tree like fields of trees and a record player sticking out of the head of the scientist who is drinking from a bleaker.

There is a lot to digest and like always the more I look at it the more I find such as the train not having wheels, but it reminds me of mystery school bus show where they took a journey into a micro small version of the human body to explore it. Also the guy falling from the sky closest to us is playing a keyboard, which is pretty cool! If we had to think about these in terms of shapes we can see the full gamut from spherical shapes, to rectangles and triangle like shapes throughout the piece.

In the background we can see the blue clouds are moving in a direction that points us to the text, that I have not mentioned yet. We can see that this is our highest contrast point since these are the only fully white with red marking shapes on the page. This is clearly a part of a bigger image, but breaking down just this section of this piece is enough to really see what he is doing.
