When I came across this design I was struck by how simple the design is yet how powerful it is. If contrast is the focus we should have when it comes to design then this strikes the perfect balance of contrast between big bold dark shapes of the rob next to mostly symmetrical detail oriented shapes of the chest piece, crown and belt. I say mostly symmetrical because although the belt, chest piece and crown are all symmetrical on both sides we do see the artist stray from this in the ornaments hanging from the belt. 

The belt elements plat to the concept of the rule of 3 with 3 smaller shapes with a couple of oblong shapes hanging down from the belt. Even the designs in themselves contrast against one another as the chest piece has almost transparent like shapes with the thicker ornamentation saved for the belt itself. If there is any repeating pattern I would say its the spike like shapes we see in the crown itself.
