Lena richards analysis

Came across Lena Richards work today and saw this dope character design for an enemy character. The first thing that strikes me about it is that it feels like a Silent Hill style work, as if silent hill took place during egyptian times. The sarcophagus head helmet when closed reminds me of pyramid head and I like the way it looks when the head is open even more.

In terms of layercaking and design we can see that they repeated use of shards of golden scales along the robe and across the chest convey this but there is not as much variety in the sizes of this. With the mask closed we see a distinctly bone like textures that go across the top of the body and converge in a downward slope pointing to the chest almost as if this was modeled after the way a spine and ribcage look molded together.

On these designs we see the windmill like effect of the gold overlayed lays of clothing on the sides of the figures going up towards the belt of both figures. When we look closely at the color palette we see a turquoise blue with gold  trimmings. I also notice a better use of layer caking in this piece rather than in the previous one.
