Brock Grossman Analysis
Composition analysis
This awesome piece by Brock caught my eye today and I wanted to make a few notes about it. Here we have a very triangular composition that peaks in the midground of the picture with all the elements of the animals and birds pointing us to our main figure. The eye enters in at the darkest point and follows the angle of the tiger in the foreground that swiftly connects us to the next and we see the final tiger is resting his eyes on the birds that lead us back to our focal point.
When it comes to value this is another image that benefits from being broken down into the threshold setting on photoshop. Below we can see the arrangement and pattern of black and white shapes clearer. We see for example the strong white background and how it balances against the black on the bottom. The figures as they move into the midground are darker than the background and this creates the awesome silhouette of the figure.
